Attorney Andrew W. Houchins recently chaired a Law Week subcommittee for the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA).
OCBA’s ABA award-winning Law Week program involves months of activities promoting community involvement and legal education throughout local schools. Among a variety of activities, the OCBA presents an award of outstanding citizen; presents a student awareness award to a deserving high school student; holds a county-wide poster and essay contest; holds a DUI prevention program; provides live mock courtroom demonstrations in Orange County schools; arranges for the naturalization of several hundred new citizens; and arranges for students from the Migrant Farm Worker Ministry to job shadow judges and attorneys.
Mr. Houchins participated in the 2013 OCBA Law Week program by coordinating a mock courtroom demonstration for school children.
